At Weldon Homecare Services, we’re more than just a business—we’re a local family with a deep commitment to giving back to our community. Our name, WELDON, is a tribute to the cherished memories of our parents, Mick and Irene Wells (WEL), and Jim & Dorothy Gordon (DON). With their love and care as our guiding light, we established WELDON Homecare Services Ltd. as a beacon of hope for those in need.
In the spirit of genuine care, we stand by your side to ensure your safety and happiness at home, every step of the way. Our goal is to provide you with a personalised service that’s designed by you, for you. From assistance with daily tasks to lending a helping hand, we’re here to support you in living life on your own terms.
We are a domiciliary care company, looking after adults aged 18 years and over, with a range of care needs, in their own homes. We operate in the healthcare sector. Our services range from medication administration, personal care, social care, housework and much more.
The demand for our services never ceases, because our founder director and registered care manager, Michelle Wells, has built two large local domiciliary care franchises for others in Newark and Sherwood during the last 3 decades. Her reputation and skills in this sector are extremely highly regarded.
Sadly, there is County wide bed blocking, people being left in their homes without adequate skilled care, leaving their families to be burdened with tasks that are often inappropriate for them or that they are not trained for or able to do, or even worse, people having to leave their homes and loved ones prematurely because of the lack of skilled domiciliary care.
Michelle Wells and our other founder director, Scott Gordon, decided to build a non-franchise company to enable the freedom to offer the best care and strive for CQC’s outstanding rating. With Michelles experience of building large companies and businesses in Newark, with over 100 employees, her desire now, is to have a family size company, with a safe family feel for all involved, offering care to those who have lost various levels of independence to keep control of the life and the standards they have always enjoyed.
This means an ambition for a maximum of 35 to 40 care workers, to ensure a tight-nit team that offers exceptional care to the local population. Michelles reputation locally, within social services, the district nurses teams and customers already within the company, means that demand for our care services is constantly strong.
With the growing need for adult care services to have a skilled workforce, we are proud that Michelle (a former paramedic who has trained staff for over 30 years) takes charge of all the specialist in-house training. She holds a City & Guilds in learning and development through demonstration. This ensures the highest standards of medication, first aid and lifesaving training, along with all equipment and moving and handling training. We are heading towards 3 years of operating and are happy to help our own community.
